THE ISLAND LIFE

puerto rico | take 4

During Covid I lived in Puerto Rico for a year. We had expanded our vacation rental business there while escaping the uncertainty of what was happening in the world at the start of the pandemic. I appreciate the experience and it was what I needed at that time but I quickly realized “island life” was solely a vaca lifestyle for me. I love going back and visiting and did in January but being “water-locked” is just as uncomfortable to a free bird like me as being “land-locked.” I need to be able to drive easily to another territory and have space to spread out. Islands just don’t do it for me.

Every single part of PR is gorgeous. If you haven’t been, put it on the list. If you have been, I guarantee you theres another spot to visit, so plan another trip.

Northwest cities like Rincon (surf, semi-Americanized, great food, amazing beaches), Aguadilla (military quarters, serene beaches and green water), Isabella (jobos beach, surf circuit) are some of my favorite stops although this time I spent time (for the 2nd time) in the southern part of the island. You will not run out of beaches + water to swim in for sure!

Guanica + Ponce on the southern tier of the island were a blast, again! We love staying at Copa Marina. The food is always good, the resort is kept up and they have plenty of activities on the grounds to do or just relax. Ponce is a quick trip and the airport was one of my fav to fly out of. One small room and one plane leaves at a time, so easy!

Lorem ipsumEnding this trip was Rio Grande. Staying at the Grand Reserve was magical. Who doesn’t love a 5 star resort especially when thats what you dream to own?! I highly recommend them esp if you’re interested in the PGA tour. The vibe is bliss!
